Project Description

Faced with the need to relocate due to considerable growth, this firm chose a location that is at the hub of activity in Downtown Austin. The expansive volume of space is flooded with natural light and offers tremendous views of Downtown Austin. The open and airy space makes for a highly collaborative environment that fosters creativity. The monochromatic palette is a play on textures to create visual interest and allow the view of the firm’s projects to serve as inspiration.

The entry sequence highlights a perimeter spine that supports the public spaces, and the main conference room, affectionately known as "Willie," seamlessly integrates the AV equipment with the architecture through the use of a one-way mirror. Classic modern furniture receives a whimsical twist when upholstered with a monochromatic mix of scuba suit fabric and cowhide.

The lounge integrates sustainable features with vintage leather chairs and a reclaimed wood collaboration table handcrafted locally. Raw and blackened steel panels serve as practical magnetic surfaces.

A reclaimed walnut stair leads to "Lyle," a second conference room on a mezzanine level that floats above the studio. This unique workplace with a signature Austin vibe is on target to earn LEED Gold certification.
